Cypress Semiconductor presents a low cost PSoC® 4 device family supported prototyping platform. The kit supports 32 Bit ARM Cortex M0 CY8C41xx and CY8C42xx device families controller and its configurable I/Os. The board is programmed by on board USB-SERIAL Bridge Controller. The USB controller supports boot loading features for programming of the PSoC®  4 device family. Rapid prototyping is done in a snap helping developer to rapidly test, integrate and get full open platform access to all ARM based PSoC®  devices. The PSoC® devices are the most open source, reconfigurable devices,  giving full access to device I/O, and all default features available onboard like LED and push button.

The CY8CKIT-049 Prototyping kits are now CapSense enabled, necessary for CapSense and CapSense Proximity designs. The USB features are the most versatile and configurable part of the board, which support features like USB-UART, USB-GPIO, USB-I2C, and USB-SPI configurations. PSoC creator software tool provide access to bootloader Host tool and support UART based boot loading through COM port connection for USB- UART bridge controller.

High End, open platform oriented software tools make the user developing experience a giant leap in integrating all PSoC® configurable development in a snap. Cypress software tools include PSoC® Creator IDE (Integrated Design Environment), a stable and concurrent platform for firmware design supporting PSoC 3, PSoC 4, PSoC 4 BLE, PRoC BLE, and PSoC 5LP systems.
